Although the brand says that their sizing is consistent, I've noticed that I wear either an 8 or 10 - and it's not consistent. I have to order two sizes to see for that specific style when ordering a new style of NYDJ. I typically wear a 10 or 12, so I tend to order down a size. I am about 145 lbs and 5' 7".I ordered the Sheri Skinny Jean and the Alina Legging at the same time. I just couldn't fit in the Sheri (maybe I did need a 12 on this style?), but loved the size 8 Alina. Quality probably not as high as I would expect in the zipper area for jeans over $100, but the fact that they stay up and don't show the back end when getting up and down a lot with my 3 year old during the day is worth it. I've reached the point where I'd rather do more laundry and have pants that stay up and fit than continue to buy multiple pairs of jeans and none really fit that well...I've bought these in other colors, but these Alina had a little different pocket detail. Since I lost some weight and needed a couple sizes smaller, I ordered these and hoped I guessed correctly. They fit as expected/hoped I learned that with NYDJ, in order to get the "tummy tuck" effect, you need to buy them a lot smaller than you'd expect, AND be willing to 'squeeze a little' when zipping them up. If you don't, they won't hold in your tummy and the stretch of the fabric won't work as designed. The first pair of NYDJ, I tried on in the store. I kept trying smaller and smaller sizes on and settled on the smallest size that would still zip without causing a muffin top (because they loosen up after a while and no longer feel too tight, but they still do a nice job of holding in your stomach. As I lost weight, I found they appeared to fit in the buttock and legs properly, but there was no holding in the tummy, in fact, it almost made my stomach look bigger than other jeans. Thus-the need to buy them tight.The part that covers my calf (I have big calves), or my legs is fine but the waist and hip is bigger than what the size chart says, I would advise anyone to buy a size down, I will have to return it and do the same, I bought size 14. My waist was 31 inches and hips were 42 inches and I weighed about 160 lbs.These aren't bad looking jeans and the slimming panels technically work. However, the advice by the brand to purchase a size smaller than your real size is absurd. I am a real size 8 - not a vanity size 8 - and in the NYDJ jeans I'm suddenly going to be a fake size 6. I detest that game because it encourages women's clothing manufacturers to continue using non standard sizing so we never know exactly what size to buy from what brand.The size "6" in these jeans for my size "8" body in the 3 other brands I buy regularly, does fit, but is tight and hard to sit comfortably in. If I just stand up or walk slowly with high heels, the jeans do make me look a full size smaller. That little middle age stomach sort of spreads and gets pushed around by the panels in the jeans so it's not as visible. Of course.... if I want to eat, sit or inhale deeply it's not easy. So the bottom line is order your actual size first and see how you like that fit before doing the pretend size smaller nonsense.I have been looking for these jeans for a while. I was so glad to finally find them in my size.They did not disappoint! The fit is perfect, with a little stretch in the fabric.These are my new favorite jeansIn scanning photos for NYDJ leggings/jeans, I almost missed the fact that these were in a houndstooth patterned fabric (view the photos in zoom mode to see the houndstooth). I love houndstooth anything, so I ordered them.The leggings are beautiful, but not quite what I was expecting, i.e., denim jeans in a black/grey houndstooth pattern. Instead, they are a soft, brushed corduroy that is more of a black/blue-grey houndstooth (98% cotton / 2% spandex). This particular style seems to run a bit smaller than my other NYDJ denim leggings (Janice) and I would suggest ordering a size up in order to achieve the same fit.While these may not have been the jeans I expected, they are quite stylish and I plan to exchange them for a larger size.UPDATE (after receiving the larger size): After wearing the jeans for a day, they stretched out and now fit more like a slim-fit jean than a legging. Nevertheless, I am quite happy with my purchase -- particularly since I received so many compliments on them!NYDJ'S AMI'S AND ALINA'S ARE MY FAVORITES!! THEY ARE THE SKINNY LEGS OR JEGGINGS, IN ALL DIFFERENT COLORS. RARELY DO I FIND MY SIZE BECAUSE THEY ARE BOUGHT SO FAST. I PREFER THESE IN REGULAR LENGTH - NOT ANKLE LENGTH. EVERYBODY HAS A PREFERENCE. MY CHANCE OF FINDING THESE ARE BEST ON AMAZON. ALSO SIZING IS VERY CONSISTENT.Nowhere in the description does it say the sizing is US sizes! Found one question mentioning it once they had arrived and were huge!!Empfohlen eine Nr. kleiner zu kaufen. Bloß nicht. Bund ? Könnte weiter sein. Komischerweise, wenn ich aus Deutschland kaufe, viel teurer, aber weitaus bessere Stoffqualität. Da es mir zu stressig ist zu retournieren , behalte ich sie. Retoure in USA ist viel Aufwand kostet nochmals 54 ,00 euro, welche man aber wohl von Amazon, nach Einreichung der Belege zurückerhält. Habe ich schon durchgespielt. Geld habe ich noch nicht. Muss sicher noch einige Zeit warten, denn diese Hose hatte ich lt. Empfehlung ne Nr. kleiner bestellt. War leider nicht für mich ersichtlich das sie aus USA kommt. Jetzt warte ich auf ca. 130,00 euro Rückvergütung.Da die Ware aus Amerika kommt war mir anfangs der Gesamtpreis nicht so klar. Hat sich aber später geklärtIch bin mit der NYDJ Qualität sehr zufrieden - Qualität hat halt ihren PreisAs expectedFits perfectly - sizes are accurate!
